About SKAD Real Estate
SKAD Real Estate is a family-owned property group helping people buy, sell, rent and manage property across Melbourne.
The business covers residential sales, property management and leasing, off-the-plan projects and acreage land. With different offices and local teams, SKAD works with homeowners, buyers, renters, landlords and investors at different stages of their property journey.
Its website also brings together property listings, agent profiles, appraisal requests, suburb information and property services. With so much happening in one place, SKAD needed a clearer website structure that could guide each visitor to the right information without making things complicated.
The Challenge
Different customers visit a real estate website for very different reasons, and each one needed a clear place to start.
Property searches needed to be easier to access
Buyers and sellers needed separate paths
Rental information covered several different needs
Multiple services made navigation harder to manage
Office and agent information needed better organisation
Property appraisals needed a quicker route
Our Strategy
Start with what each visitor came to the website to do.
Rather than putting every SKAD service into the same path, the redesign was planned around buyers, sellers, renters, landlords and investors. Important actions such as searching properties and requesting an appraisal were kept easy to reach.
Buyer Journey
Property search was given a clear place in the experience, helping buyers move quickly from the website into available homes, land and listings.
Seller Journey
Selling information and appraisal requests were brought closer together, giving homeowners a direct way to learn about SKAD and discuss their property.
Rental Journey
Rental properties, applications and property management information were organised separately, helping tenants and landlords reach the right section without unnecessary searching.
Clearer Navigation
Services, properties, locations and company information were grouped more carefully, reducing the number of choices people had to work through at once.
Agent & Office Access
Team and office information was easier to reach, helping visitors find the right SKAD representative based on their property needs or area.
Important Actions First
Property search, appraisal and contact options were placed where people could find them quickly instead of having to move through several pages.
The new UX gave each type of visitor a more direct route through the website, while keeping SKAD’s full range of property services connected.
After Redesign
What We Delivered
A complete UX and design system that brought SKAD’s properties, people and services into a clearer website experience.
UX Strategy
The website was planned around the main reasons people visit SKAD, helping buyers, sellers, renters and property owners reach useful information sooner.
Information Architecture
Pages and content were reorganised into clearer groups, making a large amount of property and service information easier to understand and navigate.
Redesigned User Journeys
Key paths were mapped for different visitors, reducing unnecessary steps between arriving on the website and reaching the action they wanted.
Property Search Experience
Property search was made a key part of the design, giving buyers and renters easier access to relevant listings and search options.
Service Page Layouts
Flexible layouts gave sales, property management and other services enough room to explain important information without making pages difficult to follow.
Location Page Layouts
Local pages were designed to present suburb and office information clearly, helping visitors understand where SKAD operates and who serves their area.
Agent Profile Layouts
Agent pages gave team members a clear professional presence, with important contact and property information available together in one easy place.
Responsive Designs
Layouts were designed to work properly across desktop, tablet and mobile, keeping property searches and important actions accessible on different screen sizes.
The Results
The final design gave SKAD a clearer website structure and made important property actions easier for people to reach.
The redesigned experience gave SKAD a better way to manage a website with many audiences, services, locations and property-related actions without making navigation feel crowded.
The Impact
A website design built around what people actually come to SKAD to do.
Buyers can get to property searches sooner, sellers have a clearer route to appraisals, and renters and landlords can reach the information meant for them without working through unrelated services.
For SKAD, the new structure also gives its offices, agents and growing range of property services a clearer place within one consistent website experience.
